Celtic have been linked with a move for Gary Hooper.

Celtic’s interim boss Neil Lennon moved a step closer to landing the job permanently on Saturday, seeing his side clinch the Scottish Premiership title.
The 3-0 win over Aberdeen at Pittodrie means it’s eight league titles in a row for Celtic, and a win over Hearts in the Scottish Cup final later this month would make it a third straight domestic treble.
Lennon has now been in the job for more than two months, and remains in the box seat to be named as Brendan Rodgers’ permanent replacement – even to the point where he’s eyeing up potential signings.
The Scottish Sun now report that Lennon wants to bring Gary Hooper back to Parkhead, after the striker was released by Sheffield Wednesday earlier this week.
Hooper, 31, has endured injury problems with the Owls, but hit 31 goals in 89 games for the club before Steve Bruce decided to let him walk away from Hillsborough.
Hooper was a hero at Celtic in the past, smashing 82 goals in 138 games for the Bhoys after signing from Scunthorpe United in 2010, becoming one of Lennon’s favourite players at Parkhead.

Now available for nothing, Lennon is thought to be keen on Hooper, and he would unsurprisingly be interested in heading back to Celtic too, but fans aren’t quite so eager.
Supporters have been taking to Twitter to suggest that signing Hooper would be embarrassing as Celtic need to aim higher, with many believing that he’s not the player he once was.
Others feel that this kind of uninspiring business is exactly why Lennon shouldn’t be given the job permanently, as he’ll only make disappointing signings in the transfer market…
