A number of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Mikael Lustig’s performance during the Hoops’ victory against Dundee on Sunday which has seen Neil Lennon’s side extend their lead in the Scottish Premiership to 10 points.

With Rangers’ winless run extending to four matches on Saturday, Celtic knew that they had the chance to take their lead into double figures heading into the Old Firm game immediately following the international break.

It appeared for a while like they may pass up the chance as the game at Dens Park went into stoppage-time still goalless. But Odsonne Edouard found the back of the net from close range to secure the three points.

Ahead of the game, Lennon made a couple of interesting decisions with his team selection as he put Mikey Johnston out on the wing and handed Lustig a start at centre-back.

Lustig has been heavily criticised throughout the campaign for his performances in his favoured position of right-back. And his display alongside Kristoffer Ajer attracted a mixed response on social media.

Some actually felt that the Swede did well in the role and did little wrong. However, others clearly want to see Filip Benkovic back in the side once the summer signing is fully fit as they believe that Lustig should no longer have a starting spot in the Hoops lineup.
