Celtic saw Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths strike up a superb partnership this year, before the Scottish season was ended early.

The global pandemic halted their goal-laden relationship, but Neil Lennon will be hoping to see them thrive together again next season.

That will depend on Edouard staying at the club, but Celtic may still look to bring in another striker regardless of the Frenchman’s future.

Having four dangerous striker to rotate in and out of the 3-5-2 system would be ideal. January signing Patryk Klimala could emerge, but moving on Vakoun Issouf Bayo and landing another striker would make sense.

Now, the Daily Mail claim that Celtic have joined the race for Lyndon Dykes. Rangers and a host of English Championship sides are also thought to be interested.

Livingston want £2million for their star striker. The Australian hit 12 goals and 10 assists this season, and would provide Celtic with a real target man presence.

He has twice excelled against Celtic, giving Christopher Jullien a torrid time on both occasions. It’s no great chock that he may be on the Celtic radar, but fans seem split.

Some believe that Dykes is much better than Bayo, and would provide Celtic with something they don’t have in terms of a physical target man who can give defenders nightmares.

Others think £2million is ‘laughable’ for Dykes, claiming that they hope Celtic don’t sign him because he is ‘nothing special’ and ‘couldn’t trap a bag of cement’.
