A number of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on the latest Scotland squad selection, which features four Hoops players.

Greg Taylor, Ryan Christie, Callum McGregor and James Forrest have been selected by Steve Clarke for the nation’s upcoming international games against Cyprus and Kazakhstan.

Scotland travel to Cyprus for the game at the GPS Stadium on Saturday 16 November, 2pm kickoff, before returning to Glasgow on Tuesday 19 November for the clash with Kazakhstan at Hampden Park, 7.45pm kickoff.

Qualification via Group I is now out of reach for Scotland, who will contest the playoffs next March for a place at Euro 2020, and some Celtic fans were not best pleased with the prospect of their players being utilised for what one supporter described as “nothing games”.

Here is some of the reaction on social media:

Former Celtic man Kieran Tierney was expected to return to the Scotland fold after returning from injury to feature for Arsenal, but Clarke confirmed that the full-back has been left out of the squad at the Premier League club’s request (BBC Sport).
