Celtic were dominant in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup, but not all of their players were at their best.

A number of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to suggest that Kristoffer Ajer was well short of his best during the Scottish Cup semi-final – though they believe that that just highlights that the gap between themselves and Rangers is even bigger than the 4-0 scoreline suggests.
Brendan Rodgers’ men strolled into the final of the competition where they will face Motherwell next month. They did not seem to need to get out of the low gears as goals from Tom Rogic, Callum McGregor, Moussa Dembele and Olivier Ntcham ensured that the Hoops continued their remarkable run over the Gers.

It was the kind of performance from Rangers that should spark an inquest over at Ibrox. After a period where they seemed to be making serious progress, Celtic have brought them back down to earth in emphatic fashion with back-to-back victories.
The first saw them come out on top when they were well short of their best, while Sunday saw the Bhoys put in a pretty flawless performance at times. Nevertheless, not every player impressed the fans at Hampden Park.

Ajer has been a revelation since breaking into the first-team on a regular basis, but he was not entirely convincing in the semi-final, often looking shaky on the ball and managing to present the Gers with some openings that they were unable to take advantage of.
But while some Celtic fans were not particularly complimentary regarding the defender’s display, they felt that it helped prove that the gap is even greater than some may suggest with some of the Hoops’ key men not able to find their best form in a 4-0 win.
Here is the best of the reaction…
