One Celtic fan compared Kolo Toure to the Glasgow Rangers defender.

Kolo Toure had arguably his worst game for Celtic on a day when Brendan Rodgers’s side got out of jail regardless.

The Scottish Premiership leaders recovered from a two-goal deficit at half time to beat Motherwell 4-3 at Fir Park, with Tom Rogic grabbing a last-minute winner.

The former Liverpool and Manchester City centre-back failed to keep up with Lewis Moult, who expertly lobbed a dropping ball over Craig Gordon after three minutes.

But it got worse for Celtic and their most experienced player on 35 minutes, with Moult peeling off the back of him to tap home a far-post cross and bag his second.

It was perhaps the first time that Toure – a Bosman signing in the summer after being released by the Reds – looked like a 35-year-old during his time in Glasgow.

And Celtic fans were relentless in their analysis of the veteran, with one man comparing him to Rangers’ right-back James Tavernier.

Rodgers’s side remain eight points clear of second-placed Rangers, but the Bhoys do have three games in hand over their bitter Ibrox rivals.

Barring a miracle, they will be lifting the Premiership for a sixth successive season and results like this, in which they really had to grind out the victory, underlines why.
