The Croatian was restored to the Bhoys’ starting lineup against Alloa.

Jozo Simunovic very nearly left Celtic in the summer but according to Bhoys boss Brendan Rodgers, the Croatian has “a 150 per cent chance” of becoming a Parkhead regular after making his first start of the season against Alloa on Wednesday (BT Sport).
Simunovic, who travelled for a medical at Torino on deadline day, only arrived in Glasgow a year ago and made 17 appearances in his debut campaign before injury struck.
But after eight months on the sidelines, the 22-year-old finally made his return in Saturday’s draw at Inverness Caledonian Thistle and was brought into Rodgers’ starting lineup for last night’s League Cup win.

Simunovic lasted 70 minutes at Celtic Park, helping his side to a 2-0 win on a largely straightforward evening for he and his defensive peers.
Despite this, there were some signs that the Croatia Under-21 international could stake a claim for a regular place in Celtic’s back line, as suggested by Rodgers – although some fans on Twitter are a little more cautious about Big Jozo’s credentials.
