Celtic signed Jonny Hayes from Aberdeen earlier this summer.

Celtic fans already appear to be questioning whether Jonny Hayes is good enough to represent them.

Hayes was handed a starting role for Celtic in their Champions League tie against Rosenborg last night.

The Bhoys won the contest 1-0, with James Forrest blasting in a brilliant shot from a tight angle, to progress.

However, Hayes could not avoid criticism – with some Bhoys fans suggesting he simply isn’t good enough.

Hayes was replaced just before the hour mark in the tie, after failing to really get involved for Celtic.

Brendan Rodgers’ side have taken Hayes from Aberdeen, and he is making a big step up by moving to Glasgow.

Celtic’s victory over Rosenborg was highly impressive, as Rodgers’ men were under big pressure to get a result.

Celtic had only drawn the first match 0-0, which meant that they had to avoid defeat in Norway to progress.

Celtic are now just one round away from qualifying for this season’s Champions League group stages.
