Some Celtic supporters on Twitter have admitted that they agree with John Collins that Callum McGregor was not appreciated by the fans during the early part of his career, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.

Former Bhoys man Collins was coaching at Parkhead when McGregor was coming through as a youngster, as he struggled to make a name for himself at that time.

But since then the 26-year-old has become one of Celtic’s key players, his career has gone from strength to strength under serial winner Brendan Rodgers and recently Neil Lennon.

And now it seems McGregor is being shown the appreciation by his own supporters, who admit that they were once harsh and hard on their main man during his early days.

During the recently concluded campaign, McGregor was a key player for Rodgers and then his replacement Lennon as the Hoops picked up another treble.

McGregor was utilised in various roles by his manager from a more attacking role in the middle of the park to playing a much deeper role in midfield.

With Lennon now at the helm for next season, Celtic will be aiming to produce the goods again next season by first winning their ninth Premiership title in a row before hoping to add more trophies to their name.
