Joey Barton claims Rangers are catching Celtic.

Former Rangers midfielder Joey Barton has claimed his former club are catching up with Celtic.
The Gers recorded an impressive win at the weekend, beating Hamilton 5-3 away from home while Celtic could only draw 0-0 with St Johnstone.
Rangers finished third last season in a disappointing campaign and have had their troubles this season.
But after eventually deciding to replace manager Pedro Caixinha with caretaker Graeme Murty after a botched two month search, Rangers finally appear to be back on track.

Bolstered by smart January signings, Rangers have now cut the gap on Celtic to nine points.
They are still long shots to win the title, but with a game against Celtic upcoming in early March, Rangers might just be beginning to dream a little bit.
Speaking to TalkSPORT (20/1), Barton said: “Give Rangers a bit of credit, they’re catching Celtic, they’re only nine points behind them now.
“With Celtic drawing yesterday against St Johnstone, has the Brendan Rodgers bubble burst?”
Unfortunately given his poor spell in Scotland, Barton commenting on Celtic is like waving a red flag to a bull.
Celtic fans were quick off the mark to slam Barton’s comments. Here is a look at the reaction…
