Celtic youngster Liam Henderson impressed supporters after being handed a starting role against Kilmarnock last night.
Henderson, who has only featured on five previous occasions this season, was a surprise choice in the starting line-up, but he starred as the Bhoys picked up a comfortable victory.
Ronny Deila’s men won the fixture 2-0 to strengthen their title challenge thanks to goals from Emilio Izaguirre and Stefan Scepovic, but it was Henderson’s performance which stood out the most.
The 18-year-old was a constant threat, with his display belying his tender years.
After the match, Deila said of the youngster: “Liam worked hard and showed a good attitude. He was good on the ball, direct as well. He is a player for the future.”
It was not just the Norwegian boss who was impressed by Henderson, either, as the prospect earned effusive praise from the club’s fan-base on social media site Twitter.
