Rangers striker Jermain Defoe will be looking to get his first goal against Celtic when the two teams meet later on this month.

Celtic fans on Twitter have been left utterly perplexed at Harry Redknapp’s prediction that Rangers striker Jermain Defoe can score 40 in the Scottish Premiership next season.
As quoted by the Daily Record, former Premier League manager Redknapp has backed Defoe to reach the heights of hitting 40 in a season.
Redknapp managed Defoe on a number of occasions during his career. At West Ham, Portsmouth and Tottenham as he was a great success for him over the years.
Therefore, it wasn’t a surprise when Steven Gerrard brought Defoe to Ibrox on a loan deal from Bournemouth in January. After a quiet start, Defoe has been given a run in the team in recent weeks and he is now beginning to prove his worth.
But it is Redknapp’s comments about what the former England man could potentially do next season which made the Parkhead faithful chuckle.
Here is a selection of Celtic fans on Twitter reacting to Redknapp’s comments about Defoe:
Defoe has played 17 games in all competitions for the Gers since his move up from England to Scotland. He has scored seven goals, including six of which have come in the Premiership [transfermarkt].
He will come up against Celtic at Ibrox later on this month and he will be looking to get his first goal against the champions-elect.
