Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are hoping that the appointment of Steven Gerrard can help them catch Celtic.

Gerrard is set to take over at Ibrox at the start of next season, and the fighting talk has already begun.
Celtic may have won seven league titles in a row, but Gerrard has suggested that they won’t have it so easy for much longer.
“Celtic have had it their own way for far too long,” Gerrard said.

“This is a massive opportunity for myself and Gary McAllister to go to a huge football club and try to improve things in Glasgow.
“We go up and we will give it our best.”
Gerrard is the latest in a succession of Rangers managers to try and stop the dominance of Celtic.
Pedro Caixinha was particularly bullish about Rangers’ chances of closing the gap, but he was unable to catch the Bhoys.
And Celtic fans appear to be convinced that Gerrard will also struggle to make Rangers genuine title contenders again.
Rangers finished this season in third place, while Celtic won the title in comfortable circumstances.
Celtic could complete their second domestic treble in succession, if they beat Motherwell in the Scottish Cup final at the weekend.
