A number of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from The Scottish Sun suggesting that the Hoops are interested in Leicester City winger Fousseni Diabate during the final days of the summer transfer window.

The Bhoys appear to be stepping up their intent in the market as the deadline looms. Moritz Bauer has arrived on a season-long loan from Stoke City to bolster Neil Lennon’s options at right-back, and it appears that he is now looking at his wide options further up the pitch.

The Scottish Sun reports that Diabate is available to leave the Foxes on loan, and he is one of the players that Lennon is interested in signing before the window closes.

The 23-year-old has struggled to establish himself at the King Power Stadium. He has made just six Premier League starts since arriving in the 2018 January transfer window and spent the second-half of last season on loan with Sivasspor.

There is some frustration emerging from the Celtic supporters on social media, with some not entirely happy to see the club target another loan signing rather than pursue a player who can potentially stay with the Scottish Premiership champions for a lengthy spell. One fan also suggested that Filip Benkovic is the Leicester player that they want on loan.

However, there are also some fans who are happy about the links, with some believing that he could be an exciting addition to Lennon’s ranks.
