Dedryck Boyata certainly had some making up to do to Celtic fans after the accusations levelled towards him by his manager that he skipped their Champions League games.

Boyata had always insisted he had an injury, and has since been welcomed back into the fold.

He scored the winning goal against Hamilton at the weekend, while seeing off fan protests in the process.

Last night in the Europa League, Boyata produced another reminder of why he is so valuable to this Celtic team.

Celtic’s defence was strong as they beat FK Suduva 3-0, earning a 4-0 aggregate win.

Suduva were never going to pose a particularly strong threat, but Boyata dealt with everything which came his way with ease.

Celtic’s defence clearly looks better with him in the side, and it is easy to see why Brendan Rodgers has made efforts to get the Belgian back involved.

A big game is required against Rangers at the weekend and Boyata’s display last night bodes well.

Here is a look at how Celtic fans reacted to his performance…
