Celtic strolled to another Scottish Premiership victory, but the fans were not entirely happy with the Hoops.

Celtic may have taken another large step towards securing another league title, but a number of fans have expressed their hope that Saturday’s clash with Ross County proves to be the final time that Dedryck Boyata represents the Hoops after his display.

Brendan Rodgers’ men had the chance to go 12 points clear at the top of the table after Rangers needed a second-half fightback to earn a point against Motherwell. And while the Scottish Premiership’s bottom side managed to get through the first 25 minutes with the game still goalless, Celtic had the contest wrapped up in emphatic fashion by the hour-mark.

Moussa Dembele broke the deadlock from the penalty spot, while Stuart Armstrong continued his resurgence just after the break before Tom Rogic made the points safe with another delightful goal.

There were fantastic performances all over the park from Bhoys players, but one member of Rodgers’ squad came in for more criticism after what has been an extremely poor run of form.

Boyata returned to the side after more than a month out for the win over the Gers last month, but was left feeling especially grateful to Scott Bain as the keeper bailed him out on a couple of occasions.

The Belgian was also unconvincing against Motherwell before the international break, and he found himself being replaced by Jack Hendry after 45 minutes on Saturday – though it is not clear whether the centre-back was carrying a knock or Rodgers was keen to sub him off.

The performance has led to many Celtic fans asking for Hendry to start when the Hoops host his former side Dundee in midweek, and has tempted many to suggest that it may be the last time that Boyata plays for the club.
