Brendan Rodgers’ side beat St. Johnstone 1-0 in Scottish Premiership action last night.

Dedryck Boyata appears to be winning over the Celtic fans with his resurgent form for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

The powerful centre-back looked be set to be heading out the exit door at Parkhead earlier this season, but he has turned things around in recent weeks.

Boyata was handed just his second start of the season against Albion Rovers last weekend, and his performance caught the eye of Rodgers.

The Northern Irish boss sung the former Manchester City’s defender’s praises after that match, and then opted to start him in Celtic’s league match against St. Johnstone last night.

The Bhoys ended up squeezing past the Saints, with Boyata scoring the only goal of the contest to further consolidate his place in Rodgers’ current starting line-up.

Boyata now seems to have forced his way into Celtic’s first-team, and Bhoys fans are starting to show belief that the 26-year-old could turn his career around.

Celtic’s victory over St. Johnstone last night means that Rodgers’ men have equalled the Lisbon Lions’ record of going unbeaten for 26 domestic matches since the start of the season.
