Celtic defender still intends to leave club.

Dedryck Boyata is once again looking to quit Celtic now the transfer window is open.

Boyata came close to forcing an exit from the Scottish champions in the summer, but Celtic refused to sell him.

The centre-back won over frustrated Celtic fans with his performances, but his standard has dipped recently, particularly in the Old Firm defeat.

Boyata is now able to negotiate with teams as his contract runs out in the summer.

His agent Jacques Lichtenstein told Het Laatste Nieuws: “A new contract? Not an option. We are not even talking.

“We have plenty of choice. We are looking at every proposition.”

Boyata could then agree to join another club as early as today on a pre-contract deal, and Celtic would lose him for free.

This increases the pressure on Celtic to sell him immediately to get some money.
