The 27-year-old right-back started the match and played for 80 minutes, as Brendan Rodgers’s side registered a 1-0 victory.
Olivier Ntcham’s goal just past the hour mark proved to be the difference between the two teams.
It was the Costa Rica international defender’s first competitive appearance of the season for the Glasgow giants.
Gamboa, who made 21 appearances for Celtic during the 2016-17 campaign, has been on the books of the Hoops since the summer of 2016 when he joined from Premier League club West Bromwich Albion for a transfer fee reported by The Daily Record to be worth £1 million.
