Celtic fans have responded to Rangers signing’s declaration of intent.
Portugal’s Bruno Alves fouls England’s Harry Kane before being sent off
Bruno Alves completed his move to Rangers yesterday, joining from Italian side Cagliari.
Alves is a multiple time league champion, winning four titles in Portugal, two in Turkey and one in Russia.
The centre-back is now 35 and insists he is joining Rangers and aiming for the top, hoping to lead Pedro Caixinha’s side to the top of the league.
Bruno Alves celebrates
He told Rangers TV : “I have this feeling and this desire to win and I think to move here will bring this back to me and to my career.
“At almost all the clubs I have played for I win, and I expect to win here for the fans and for the club; I think I can do this here.
“I want to be a champion again. This is one of the best feelings that I have in my career and the last time I was a champion at a club was in Fenerbahce. I want to have this feeling again.”

At Rangers his task will not be easy, with the Light Blues finishing 39 points behind rivals Celtic last season.
Brendan Rodgers’ side put on a masterclass, going the entire domestic season unbeaten and lifting the treble.
Alves has to prove that in his mid-30s he can still cut it, and won’t turn out to be another Philippe Senderos, who is set to be released after a disastrous spell at Ibrox.
Celtic fans are predictably not worried by his comments, and have taken to Twitter to discuss Rangers’ big signing and his pledge…
