Celtic put one foot in the second round of the Champions League qualifiers with an impressive 3-1 win on Tuesday night.

A number of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo’s debut display as the Hoops took a big step towards the second qualifying round of the Champions League with a 3-1 win against FK Sarajevo.
Neil Lennon’s men bounced back from going a goal down in less than ideal conditions to secure an important win. Mikey Johnston equalised before the break, before Odsonne Edouard and Scott Sinclair scored towards either end of the second-half to ensure that the Bhoys are in command of the tie.
The £3 million summer signing (fee reported by the Evening Times) played 57 minutes in Bosnia before being replaced by Jonny Hayes due to an injury. And judging by the reaction to his performance, the Celtic supporters are really hoping that the 24-year-old has only suffered a minor knock and will be back before too long.
Bolingoli-Mbombo looked bright when he needed to get forward and offer support in attack. And of course, given how many games Celtic play on the front foot throughout the season, that aspect of his game will certainly please the supporters.

It was always going to be a difficult night for any player in Celtic’s squad to impress when the result was so much more important than the performance.
But the Belgian appears to have done enough to impress the Hoops fans and create plenty of optimism regarding how impressive a signing he is going to prove to be during his time at Parkhead.

Here is what some of the Celtic fans have said about the full-back’s debut for the Bhoys…
