Celtic defender Jozo Simunovic is reportedly being pursued by the La Liga side this summer.

A number of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from The Scottish Sun which have suggested that Alaves are interested in signing Jozo Simunovic this summer.
Simunovic has endured a turbulent spell at Parkhead. When he has been fit, he has often looked like the best centre-back in the Scottish Premiership, but avoiding injury has proved to be problematic for the 24-year-old.
The Scottish Sun reports that the La Liga side are keen to sign Simunovic during the coming months, and it will take a bid of around £4 million to convince the champions to sell the defender.
It seems fair to say that the reports have completely divided some of the Celtic fans on social media. There are plenty who believe that selling Simunovic would be a good move given he has not proved reliable when it comes to staying fit.

However, there are also those who are adamant that the Hoops should have no intention of considering a sale for that price. Simunovic has been excellent since Neil Lennon returned as manager, forming a brilliant partnership with Kristoffer Ajer at the heart of the defence.
And with Dedryck Boyata leaving and Filip Benkovic’s loan coming to an end, Celtic do not have the depth to lose another key defender. And some believe that it would be too much of a risk to let Simunovic go without signing at least one replacement in that area of the field.

Here is how some of the fans have reacted to the reports…
