The 25-year-old was solid between the sticks once more as Dundee defeated Rangers; will Celtic make a move?

If Celtic are interested in signing Dundee goalkeeper Scott Bain, as the Daily Record claims, the 25-year-old did his chances of a Parkhead switch no harm with a commanding performance against Rangers on Sunday afternoon. That’s one way to endear yourself to your potential new employers.
Bain, touted as a future Scotland number one, rejected a new contract to remain at Dens Park, meaning Dundee have little option but to listen to offers for their key man in the summer.
According to the Daily Record, the former Aberdeen youngster is keen on making the next step in his career with Scottish Champions Celtic having monitored his progress for some time.
And Bain put himself firmly in the shop window by helping Dundee extend the gap between Rangers and Celtic to 30 points, the hosts edging a deserved 2-1 victory on Sunday.
Though the stopper could have reacted quicker to Joe Garner’s swerving pot-shot, his overall performance was again impressive, reinforcing his reputation as one of the league’s most commanding goalkeepers.
Furthermore, with the future of Craig Gordon still up in the air amid reports in the Evening Standard that he has his heart set on a move to Chelsea, not to mention Dorus De Vries (below) and Logan Bailey failing to convince, don’t be surprised if speculation linking Celtic with Scott Bain intensifies as the year progresses.
