Celtic are reportedly interested in signing Joe Allen this summer, but the Hoops fans are not convinced by the links.

Celtic fans have been taking to Twitter to comment on reports coming out of the Daily Mirror over the weekend which suggested that Brendan Rodgers is interested in signing Joe Allen after the midfielder’s relegation from the Premier League with Stoke City.
Like a couple of his teammates, Allen’s stock remains fairly high despite the disappointment of this past season. The Welshman was generally impressive, and it would be little surprise if the Potters were fielding offers from top flight sides over the summer.

Rodgers worked with Allen at Swansea and took him to Liverpool when he got the Anfield gig off the back of his work at the Liberty Stadium, and the report suggests that he is now interested in working with the 28-year-old for a third time.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the price of his reported release clause, the Celtic supporters are not allowing themselves to get carried away regarding the links as they do not believe that the Scottish Premiership side will have any interest in meeting Stoke’s demands.
Celtic are particularly strong in the middle of the park and have much more pressing concerns – despite securing their second domestic Treble – so it would appear that most Hoops supporters will not be expecting much from the links for the time-being.
