Alfredo Morelos has shocked Rangers fans by saying he is open to leaving Ibrox in the January transfer window, claiming the English Premier League is his dream move – and Celtic fans have reacted in hysterics.

The 22-year-old has been in explosive form for Rangers this season, scoring 20 goals in all competitions after his third in two games against Hibernian on Boxing Day.

But the Colombia international will have made Rangers fans worried after being quoted by the Daily Record as saying that he is open to a move and is keen to move down south a top-flight club.

Morelos said: “It’s very likely there are several teams looking at me and that there will be offers, but there is nothing concrete yet. I have to wait until the last game of the year is played and will try to end 2018 in a positive way.

“My dream is to play in the English Premier League. It’s very similar to the football in Scotland.”

It remains to be seen if Morelos will remain at Ibrox beyond January, with the former HJK Helsinki striker’s contract set to expire in the summer of 2022 after putting pen to paper on a four-year deal with the club in the summer of 2017.

Morelos’ excellent form has even drawn praise from Celtic legend John Hartson, who declared that the striker is better than Celtic duo Leigh Griffiths and Odsonne Edouard at the moment when speaking to BT Sport.

Upon hearing the news, Celtic fans reacted hilariously on Twitter when considering their arch enemies’ best player could be set to leave Steven Gerrard’s side next month.
