Patrick Roberts sent the Celtic supporters a very emotional message after the Hoops’ Scottish Cup final victory.

A number of Celtic fans have responded to Patrick Roberts’ emotional message on Twitter that seemed to see the winger say goodbye to the Hoops fans as his second loan spell reaches its conclusion.
Roberts has been a hugely popular member of Brendan Rodgers’ squad since Manchester City allowed the 21-year-old move to Parkhead for an initial 18 month spell, regularly generating excitement when he gets on the ball and providing plenty of goals and assists for the Bhoys.

Despite being linked with some of City’s Premier League rivals last summer, he returned to Celtic for a further year. And although his second spell has not been quite as impressive, he undoubtedly heads into this summer with his stock still extremely high, with the Daily Express reporting that both Leicester City and West Ham United are eyeing a £15 million permanent deal.
The Express added that Rodgers may try and seek another move for Roberts during the upcoming summer window. But given that the wide-man remained an unused substitute during the Hoops’ Scottish Cup final win over Motherwell – which sealed an incredible double Treble for the club – and what the former Fulham starlet posted on social media after the game, it would not be a huge leap to suggest that he will be plying his trade elsewhere next season.

In response, a number of supporters have paid tribute to how good Roberts has been during his two spells with Celtic. Even when not at his best, he has to be considered one of the most exciting players in the Scottish Premiership over the last couple of seasons, and replacing him will be a tough task for Rodgers.
They were also a couple of suggestions that Celtic need to do all they can to try and bring the winger back in the summer as it is going to be a huge blow to lose him for next season.
