Scott Brown has seen off his foes at Celtic, including big mouthed former Rangers midfielder Joey Barton.

Scott Brown made his 400th appearance for Celtic last night in their history equalling win over St Johnstone.

It marked the club’s 26th consecutive domestic game unbeaten, a record to begin the season with only once achieved before, by the famous ‘Lisbon Lions’ side of 1966/67.

Brown’s achievement was commended by his teammates, including star striker Moussa Dembele – who posted a message alongside a memorable image of the Old Firm derby in September, with Rangers’ Joey Barton featured prominently looking crestfallen.

Could Dembele have used another picture, like the one above, perhaps?

Really it summed up Brown’s Celtic career perfectly. Opponents have felt like Barton they may have the beating of him, but repeatedly fallen short when it mattered.

Celtic fans took great amusement in Dembele’s choice of picture, voicing their opinions in reply to the Frenchman’s message, and poking fun at Barton’s expense.

The midfielder was released a few weeks after the game, which turned out to be his final one in Scotland, and has since re-signed with former club Burnley back in England.
