A number of Celtic fans are not exactly happy after the club announced their latest financial results.
Celtic’s financial results may look extremely ominous for their Scottish Premiership rivals, but a number of their fans are less than happy after the club confirmed in their latest figures on their official website that they have £27 million in the bank.
It is fairly staggering results from the Hoops, who have confirmed on their official website that they boasted a revenue of £100 million and a pre-tax profit of just over £17 million in the year ending June 30 2018.
The figures look extremely positive across the board for the champions, with significant improvements in several areas. And that has left plenty of supporters feeling quite frustrated.
It is no secret that Celtic’s transfer window did not exactly go to plan. Three of their six signings arrived on free transfers, while two others came in on loan. Their one big-money buy was for a player who was at Parkhead last year in Odsonne Edouard.
Meanwhile, Stuart Armstrong left for Southampton and Moussa Dembele sealed a very late exit. Neither man was replaced, and it remains to be seen if Filip Benkovic can help solve the centre-back issues the club have had in recent times.
And the confusion following an uninspiring window has only increased after the club announced their brilliant financial results. It is perhaps fair to say that not strengthening further probably damaged their chances of reaching the Champions League group-stages, and the supporters are now expecting an exciting January with the money clearly available.
