Celtic flop Pukki has been on fire for Norwich City in the English Championship.
Teemu Pukki has been in excellent form for English Championship side Norwich City this season and Chris Sutton has applauded the Celtic clop on Twitter – which has provoked reaction from many Hoops fans.
Pukki, 28, joined Celtic in the summer of 2013 from German Bundesliga side Schalke 04 for a fee of £2.4million (Record), but struggled north of the border and is regarded as one of the club’s most expensive ever flops.
The Finland international made 38 appearances for Celtic during 2013-14, but only scored nine goals. He was loaned out to Danish side Brondby the season after – before making the deal permanent.
Pukki had remained with Brondby until last summer, amassing an enormous 72 goals in 164 appearances – which also included 23 assists. His excellent form saw Daniel Farke bring him to east Anglia, and he has since impressed Sutton.
Indeed, he has proved to be an inspired signing for the Canaries, as he has amassed 16 Championship goals in 25 league games with Sutton’s former side Norwich sitting in second place in the second tier of English football.
He sits level with Brentford’s Neil Maupay and Sheffield United’s Billy Sharp on 16, one behind top scorer Tammy Abraham. Celtic fans reacted to Sutton’s Tweet, in very different manners.
