Celtic supporters are taking aim at the Swedish right-back on social media.

Michael Lustig of Celtic celebrates his second goal during the Betfred Cup Semi-Final between Hibernian and Celtic at Hampden Park on October 21, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Some Celtic fans on Twitter are tearing into Mikael Lustig after his performance today.

The Hoops posted yet another stuttering performance but it was enough to see off Hamilton.

It was linked-away defender Dedryck Boyata who opened the scoring for Celtic, slamming home after Lustig headed across a Leigh Griffiths corner.

However, the Swedish right-back, who earns some £24,000 per week at Parkhead [The Daily Star], endured his fair share of hairy moments too.

And here is how some Bhoys fans have reacted to the 31-year-old’s all-round performance:

In Lustig’s defence, he was playing centre-back in a three-man defence, rather than his usual right-back slot in a back four, but even still, he is a much more accomplished central defender than he showed today.

It is perfectly plausible that the uncertainty surrounding Boyata isn’t all that helpful for the erratic Hoops, who drew 1-1 with Lithuanian minnows Suduva on Thursday night.

But one way or the other there’ll be a resolution on Boyata’s situation next week so maybe, just maybe, Brendan Rodgers’s side will then start playing like the champions that they are.
