A number of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to laud Tom Rogic’s display during the Hoops’ stunning 6-0 victory over St Johnstone which saw Brendan Rodgers’ men hit back at their critics in emphatic fashion.

After suffering defeat in midweek, Celtic needed to respond heading into the international break. And it quickly became apparent that they would go into the break off the back of a victory as James Forrest scored four times and Odsonne Edouard scored his second in as many games to make the half-time score 5-0.

Callum McGregor would complete the scoring late on in the second-half. The result probably left Celtic fans coming away feeling that they had watched the almost perfect performance, but if they had one complaint, it would probably be that Rogic was not able to get on the scoresheet.

Rogic was superb at McDiarmid Park, pulling the strings in the middle of the park and providing a number of assists for the Bhoys, who responded superbly following their disappointing trip to Austria on Thursday night.

And the Celtic supporters have unsurprisingly been lauding the Australian on social media. It appears that displays like his on Sunday make the games when he goes very much under the radar seem worthwhile as he was superb.

Forrest understandably took home the man of the match award, but the fact that many Celtic fans felt that Rogic staked a claim to challenge the four-goal winger highlights how good he was on an incredibly impressive afternoon for Rodgers’ side.
