Celtic fans have been taking to Twitter to heap praise upon Stuart Armstrong after the midfielder was simply superb during the Hoops’ excellent win over Ross County.

Brendan Rodgers’ men would have been hoping to avoid being the victims of an upset when they hosted the Scottish Premiership’s bottom side at Parkhead on Saturday. With Rangers drawing earlier in the day, they would have also known that they could move themselves 12 points clear at the top of the table and move one hand onto the trophy once again.

Celtic's head coach Brendan Rodgers talks during a press conference in Brussels on September 26, 2017 on the eve of the Champions League group B) football match against RSC Anderlecht.

And they certainly managed to put that one hand on the title as goals from Moussa Dembele, Armstrong and Tom Rogic ensured that they picked up a 3-0 victory.

It was a brilliant display from Celtic, with a number of players looking fantastic, one of whom was definitely Armstrong. The 26-year-old has endured an underwhelming season, but appears to have turned a corner in recent weeks and now looks to be much more like the player who was sensational during Rodgers’ first year at the club.

Stuart Armstrong of Celtic arrives prior to the Scottish Premier League match between Dundee and Celtic at Dens Park on December 26, 2017 in Dundee, Scotland.

The Daily Record recently reported that he may be off to the Premier League in the summer. His contract has just over one year left to run, and the likes of Brighton and Southampton are keen to make a move with £7 million likely to be the price that the Hoops hold out for.

And after his performance on Saturday, a number of fans have insisted that the club need to do all they can to make sure that Armstrong agrees fresh terms with Celtic as losing him would be a major blow.

Here is the best of the reaction…
