Odsonne Edouard timed his brilliant performance perfectly as Celtic booked their place in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup.

Celtic fans have taken to social media to laud Odsonne Edouard after he put in a brilliant performance in the Hoops’ Scottish Cup quarter-final win over Morton at Parkhead.
Many would have expected Brendan Rodgers’ side to get through to the last four of the competition with ease, but the Scottish Championship outfit did not let the home team have it all their own way.

The hour-mark had gone by the time Celtic managed to find the opener with Moussa Dembele scoring twice in the space of nine minutes to ensure that he goes into next week’s Old Firm game off the back of a strong display – but it was the introduction of Edouard that arguably helped bring Dembele into the game.
It has been a mixed loan spell for the Frenchman thus far, and most Celtic fans would probably suggest that he needs to do a lot more to convince the Hoops to pay the £7 million that would make his deal permanent. But he certainly demonstrated his potential against Morton.

Edouard replaced Scott Sinclair at half-time, and there is no doubt that Celtic looked significantly more dangerous once the change had been made. And the 20-year-old got his rewards in the dying minutes as he rounded off the 3-0 victory with his seventh goal for the club.
After the game, a number of Celtic fans took to social media to insist that Rodgers should start Edouard up front alongside Dembele at Ibrox next weekend rather than hand the under-par Sinclair another chance.
And while most were not getting too carried away about the young forward, there were some fans who felt that he provided another indication as to why the Bhoys should look to sign him permanently this summer.
Here is the best of the reaction…
