Odsonne Edouard came off with injury as Celtic cruised through to the group-stages of the Europa League.

Celtic may have comfortably booked their spot in the group-stages of the Europa League on Thursday night, but a number of their supporters have taken to Twitter to express their frustration over Odsonne Edouard after the striker had to be taken off due to injury in their victory over AIK.
Neil Lennon’s men looked to have one foot in the group-stages of the competition after winning the first-leg at Parkhead 2-0. Nevertheless, Lennon put out a strong team in Sweden for the second clash between the two.
By half-time, it appeared to be a safe bet that Celtic would be progressing as they led 2-1 on the night and 4-1 on aggregate, meaning that AIK would need four second-half goals without reply to win the tie.
The Bhoys would ensure that they progressed, but the victory came at a cost as Edouard came off injured with 14 minutes to go. And plenty of Celtic supporters are clearly not happy that he was allowed to stay on the pitch for as long as he did.

Edouard has become such an important part of Celtic’s side. And of course, no Hoops supporter needs reminding of the game awaiting the club at the weekend, and plenty feel that it would be a massive blow if the Frenchman is not available.
And a lot of that frustration has been directed at Lennon, with some suggesting that there was no reason to keep him on the pitch with Celtic almost definitely through long before the full-time whistle.

Here is how some of the supporters reacted to Edouard’s injury…
