Celtic have enjoyed great success with Kyogo Furuhashi and could now repeat the trick by signing compatriot Daizen Maeda.
The Bhoys appointed Ange Postecoglou from Yokohama F. Marinos over the summer, and his knowledge of the Japanese market is coming into play.
Celtic boss Postecoglou brought in Furuhashi from Vissel Kobe, and could now raid his former club to sign Maeda.
The Times report that Celtic are confident they will have a deal done to sign Yokohama F. Marinos attacker Daizen Maeda in January.
Sources in Japan believe a deal is going to happen, with Maeda and Furuhashi set to join forces in Glasgow.
Maeda, 24, has hit 17 goals in 29 league outings for Yokohama F. Marinos in 2021 and offers a threat out wide or up front.

Celtic fans react to Maeda rumour
Some Celtic fans are absolutely buzzing with this rumour, believing Maeda is a ‘defender’s nightmare’.
Others called Maeda a ‘brilliant’ player and would be ‘massive’ for Celtic if a deal is done.
There were even fans who can’t wait to see Rangers defender Filip Helander try to chase down Maeda in the future.
It looks like Celtic fans want Maeda to be another Furuhashi, and that could well happen.
