Neil Lennon will be hoping for a response from his Celtic players after the international break following their defeat to Livingston over the weekend.

Scott Brown of Celtic arrives ahead of the Scottish Premier League match between Hibernian and Celtic at Easter Road on 28 September, 2019 in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Celtic supporters on Twitter have hit out at Andy Walker for suggesting there is a problem with captain Scott Brown and his manager Neil Lennon.

The Bhoys suffered a 2-0 defeat against Livingston over the weekend, and when the home team netted their second, Lennon opted to make an attacking change by taking off Brown.

But after Brown went off, ex-Celtic man Walker, speaking during his Sky Sports commentary stint (06/10/2019), pointed out that there was no handshake between Brown and his manager.

“There was a handshake for Scott Brown from Kennedy and Damien Duff, but not Neil Lennon,” Walker said on Sky Sports.

Walker’s comments haven’t gone down well with the Celtic faithful because they feel he is fuelling something that isn’t really there.

Neil Lennon, Manager of Celtic looks on prior to the UEFA Europa League group E match between Celtic FC and CFR Cluj at Celtic Park on October 03, 2019 in Glasgow, United Kingdom.

Lennon made the change for attacking reasons, and when Brown came off, his manager was sat at his seat.

But Walker’s decision to bring up such comments have resulted in the Celtic supporters reacting with anger towards their former player.

Despite early criticism, Celtic, with Lennon in the dugout and Brown leading them in the middle of the park, have shut a lot of critics up during these past few weeks.

They suffered a setback over the weekend, and after the international break, they will want to showcase their true worth once again.
