Midtjylland were reduced to 10 men themselves when Anders Dreyer was dismissed, but they still found a leveller through Evander’s free kick.
The tie is finely poised as Celtic prepare to head to Denmark for the second leg next week, and Postecoglou will be praying for a big win to kickstart his time at Parkhead.
Postecoglou’s starting XI last night included both Odsonne Edouard and Ryan Christie despite rumours surrounding their futures, and the latter really excelled.
Christie could be on the move soon with his contract running down, but he left everything on the pitch for Celtic and earned huge praise from supporters.
Fans branded him ‘magnificent, ‘imperious’ and ‘terrific’, feeling that he was the best player on the pitch.
Others feel Christie already looks like a different player under Postecoglou – but just how long he plays under the Australian remains to be seen…
