Celtic moved one more step closer to clinching yet another Scottish Premiership title this afternoon, beating Old Firm rivals Rangers 2-1 at Parkhead in an action-packed affair.

The Bhoys knew a derby day win would take them 13 points clear at the top of the table, and that is exactly what their lead sits at tonight after a dramatic victory.

Odsonne Edouard put Neil Lennon’s side in front in the first half as he broke away on the counter to score, before Rangers were reduced to 10 men, with Alfredo Morelos picking up a red card for an elbow on Scott Brown.

Despite being a man short, Rangers remarkably got back into the game, as winger Ryan Kent raced past Dedryck Boyata on the edge of the box to score a superb equaliser for the Gers.

Celtic ultimately had the last laugh though, as they pounced on a James Tavernier error to snatch the win, with James Forrest slotting past Allan McGregor to spark wild scenes at Parkhead.

Celtic got a little bit slack in the second half, but nobody will remember that now as celebrations in the green half of Glasgow will be in full flow this evening, with some fans hailing defender Kristoffer Ajer.

The 20-year-old was a colossus at centre back, turning in an all-round excellent display, but his key moment was miraculously preventing a Joe Worrall tap-in at 2-1, which ultimately won the game.

Many supporters have taken to Twitter to brand Ajer as ‘immense’ and ‘different gravy’, feeling he is becoming an absolute warrior whilst tipping him to become a star, with one fan urging Celtic to build a team around the young Norwegian.
