Calvin Miller missed a penalty for loan side Dundee on Tuesday night against Scottish Premiership leaders Hearts, who went on to win the clash 3-0 at Dens Park – and Celtic fans have slammed their young star on Twitter.

Summer signing Oliver Bozanic curled in a superb free-kick for Hearts inside two minutes before Steven Naismith scored his 11th goal of the season in the 14th minute.

But just moments after former Rangers striker Naismith tapped in, Dundee were given the chance to reduce the arrears after as foul by Jimmy Dunne. But Celtic loanee Miller dragged the penalty wide of the post, by quite some distance.

The 20-year-old left-back has impressed since moving to Dundee under Neil McCann, who has since been sacked and replaced by Jim McIntyre. But fans are questioning the decision surrounding Miller on Tuesday night.

The majority of fans on social media simply cannot understand why the likes of veteran and captain Kenny Miller was not taking the penalty, or indeed any of Dundee’s other attackers.

In what should have given the Dee a route back into the match, Steven MacLean rounded off the victory just after half-time with a poacher’s finish from eight yards out. Celtic fans hammered their academy product Miller for his missed spot kick.
