Celtic remain top of the Scottish Premiership table after Rangers could only draw 1-1 away at Heart of Midlothian this afternoon.

The Bhoys beat Ross County 6-0 on Saturday afternoon, meaning they reclaimed top spot at least until Rangers travelled to Edinburgh to take on Hearts.

Rangers started poorly as Ryotaro Meshino put Hearts in front after a mistake from Gers right back James Tavernier, meaning Steven Gerrard’s men had to come from behind.

They did find an equaliser as Alfredo Morelos scored from close range, but they couldn’t unlock Hearts again to find a winner, settling for a point in the end.

That takes Rangers level on points with Celtic, but the Bhoys stay top on goals scored, showing just how close the two teams are after nine games of the season.

One of the key players in the Hearts side was striker Uche Ikpeazu, with the battering ram of a striker giving Nikola Katic and Connor Goldson a difficult afternoon.

Ikpeazu worked tirelessly and battled for every ball, with the powerhouse forward again showing what he can do, which may well have been of interest to Celtic.

West London Sport recently claimed that Celtic want to sign Ikpeazu, and such a strong showing against Rangers will have surely caught Neil Lennon’s eye ahead of the January transfer window.

Celtic fans took to Twitter t comment on Ikpeazu’s display, with some praising him for having Rangers on strings, claiming that he absolutely ran the show today.

Others wouldn’t mind seeing him play alongside Odsonne Edouard, and even believe that Celtic will sign him, suggesting that he’s better than Vakoun Issouf Bayo and could strengthen the Celtic attack.
