Celtic fans are urging Patrick Roberts to stick with them when his loan spell expires at the end of the season

Roberts has spent the last 18 months with the Glasgow club, and his potential has been obvious throughout his loan spell.

The 20-year-old attacker has become a fans’ favourite at Celtic Park, with his skill catching the eye.

And Celtic fans are now hoping that Roberts sign up on a permanent deal in the summer, with a large number of Bhoys supporters messaging the attacker on social media to try and convince him to sign up.

Roberts is set to return to Manchester City at the end of this season, but his chances of breaking into Pep Guardiola’s side look slim.

City have an abundance of talent breaking through, with competition fierce.

Indeed, Roberts has hinted that he would be open to returning to Celtic if the opportunity arose.

He told the Scottish Sun: “I honestly don’t know what’s going to happen. Everything is an option to me. Football is crazy, we will see when it gets down to it.

“Celtic have been brilliant with me. If any young player asks me about coming here then I’d tell them it’s a no-brainer.

“It’s a massive club with huge expectation and when you get the wins it’s better than you can ever expect.”

Over his time at Celtic, Roberts has made 50 appearances in all competitions – scoring 12 goals and claiming 15 assists.
