Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Barry Bannan has hit back at a Rangers fan on Twitter after he complimented Celtic on their win against Lazio.
Both Rangers and Celtic were in Europa League action on Thursday evening, and the Gers and the Hoops both won.
While Lennon’s side won 2-1 against Lazio in Rome, Gerrard’s team got the better of FC Porto at Ibrox in Glasgow.
The results mean that Rangers have enhanced their chances of progressing to the knockout rounds of the Europa League, Celtic have actually booked their place in the round of 32.
Wednesday midfielder Bannan – who told Herald Scotland back in March 2009 that he is a Celtic fan – has taken to Twitter to revel in the win for Neil Lennon’s side.
The former Aston Villa and Crystal Palace midfielder has also hit back at a Rangers fan on Twitter.
