The Hoops were set to offer Simpson a trial but Parkhead boss Neil Lennon pulled the plug on the Bhoys offer.

Danny Simpson was on the radar of Celtic this summer before Hoops boss Neil Lennon pulled the plug on a trial for the full-back.
Now, the Premier League winner has linked up with English Championship strugglers Huddersfield Town on a deal until the end of the season.
Simpson was poised to try and earn a deal with the treble Treble champions in July following his release by Leicester City the end of last term, but Lennon opted to withdraw the offer.
“On Danny, we were down the line with Hatem and one or two other options so we just felt it would be futile to bring Danny in if he sees us bringing in other players in his specialised position,” said Lennon, as quoted by the Leicester Mercury.
As reported by the official Huddersfield website, Simpson has been training with the Terriers for the past two weeks, impressing Town’s management duo of Danny and Nicky Cowley, and as such was offered a deal until next summer, which he has signed.

Huddersfield were relegated from the Premier League last season and currently sit bottom of the Championship table, having failed to win a single game in the league thus far, while also being knocked out of the League Cup at the first hurdle at the hands of Lincoln City.
Simpson spent five years at Leicester, joining the King Power Stadium outfit in the summer of 2014 and playing a key role in the historic shock English title win of 2015-16 under Claudio Ranieri.
Along with his Foxes stint, the £3.15million-valued (Transfermarkt) veteran defender – who came through the ranks at Manchester United – has also had spells at Newcastle United and Blackburn Rovers.
