Celtic are back in Europa League action, but curiously take on Ferencvaros on Tuesday afternoon rather than a Thursday evening.
The Bhoys beat Motherwell at the weekend and must now turn to European action.
Most fans would be expecting Celtic’s next Europa League game to be on a Thursday. After all, BT Sport market that ‘Thursday nights are Europa nights’.
This week though, that isn’t the case.
Instead, Celtic’s third Europa League group stage game takes place on Tuesday afternoon.
Why are Celtic playing a Europa League game on a Tuesday?
There are two reasons for this.
The first is that COP26 – the UN Climate Change Conference – takes place in Glasgow later this month and into November.
UEFA therefore decided that neither Celtic nor Rangers would be playing home games in Gameweek four.
That meant both sides had to be at home in Gameweek three – this coming week.

Police and safety reasons mean Celtic and Rangers can’t both be at home on the same day, meaning one of them had to move.
Celtic’s fixture was therefore moved to Tuesday, with kick-off at 3:30pm. That kick-off time will be a major frustration to Celtic fans who have to work instead.
UEFA don’t want a Europa League game clashing with the Champions League, hence the very early kick-off.
Ferencvaros won 2-1 on their last visit to Celtic Park in 2020, and Celtic will be desperate to avoid defeat in this unusually-timed fixture.
