Celtic have shown great foresight with Odsonne Edouard.

Celtic upset some fans by caving into Moussa Dembele and selling him to Lyon on deadline day.
The exciting striker was a hero at Celtic Park for two seasons and felt he had earned a move to take on a fresh challenge after winning everything in Scotland.
One of the reasons Celtic were criticised was because of the lateness of the deal, which meant they did not have time to bring in a replacement.
Yet Celtic are more forward thinking than they have been given credit, for they have already signed the striker who will replace him, Odsonne Edouard.

Dembele had been linked with a Celtic exit after just three months at the club after hitting form straight away.
There was even suggestions he may not even see out his first season at the club.
For Celtic to keep him for two whole seasons was impressive, and last summer they began to put into action for Edouard.
Celtic signed him on loan, testing the waters, and then ceded to PSG’s demands by paying a club record £9 million for the striker earlier this summer.

Brendan Rodgers knew one day Dembele could be tempted away, and if they did not have Edouard then they would be left short, with only Leigh Griffiths as an option.
Just because Edouard was there on loan last season, and co-existed with Dembele, does not mean he should be taken for granted.
Celtic invested a lot of money in him, with this exact scenario in mind.
