Celtic are in the market for reinforcements this summer, and a few interesting links have emerged of late.

Paris Saint-Germain left back Mitchel Bakker is one target, just a year since leaving Ajax for a move to France.

Another product of the Ajax academy has been touted for a move to Parkhead, with Goal reporting in August that Celtic fancy Noa Lang.

The Ajax youngster, 21, plays predominantly as a winger, but can also play as a number 10 if needed.

Lang hit five goals and four assists in nine second-tier games for Jong Ajax, and after scoring a first-team hat-trick against Twente in December, he joined Twente on loan in January.

Now back at Ajax, Lang is being linked with Celtic, Hertha Berlin, Real Sociedad and Villarreal, with all of them seeing potential in him.

However, Celtic’s hopes of signing Lang have been dented, as RTV Oost in the Netherlands have spoken to Twente’s technical director Jan Streuer.

Streuer has admitted that Ajax are not allowing Lang to leave the club this summer, as Twente had looked to bring him back.

It seems that Ajax want to keep Lang around their first-team squad for next season, and Celtic will have to look elsewhere if they want a new prospect out wide.
