Celtic face an uphill challenge if they are to qualify through to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Celtic’s Jozo Simunovic
Celtic defender Jozo Simunovic has explained how Brendan Rodgers wants his side to implement the high-press when they take on Borussia Mönchengladbach in their crucial Champions League game on Wednesday night, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.
The Hoops have once again been dominant in domestic competition, and currently hold a four-point lead at the top of the table after winning seven and drawing one of their opening eight league outings.
They haven’t had things quite so much their own way in European competition, however, and were on the wrong end of a 7-0 humiliation against Barcelona last month.

They did salvage some pride though, with a 3-3 draw at home to Manchester City three weeks ago – a result that kept their hopes of qualification from the group alive.
Simunovic, 22, was speaking to the Scottish Sun, and highlighted the City game as something that he and his Celtic teammates will draw from when they take on the Germans on Wednesday night:
“We are very positive about Wednesday. We’ve good attacking players and that gives us confidence. We pressed high against Man City and we will try to do that again. We need to believe in how we play. I am very confident about the game against Borussia.”

The Croatian’s confidence is something that the rest of the Celtic squad will need to have in abundance if they have any hopes of progressing to the latter stages.
The back-to-back games against Monchengladbach certainly represent the Glasgow giant’s best chance of picking up wins in their group, and a return of four points from the two games will be the absolute minimum requirementt for Rodgers’ men.
