It may not last, but at present Sunderland plan to stick with David Moyes even if they are relegated to the Championship.
The Black Cats are not expected to survive the drop, currently sitting at the bottom of the Premier League.
They need to plan for the future, and one sensible transfer target for Sunderland could be Celtic full-back Saidy Janko, who David Moyes knows well.
Janko was signed by Moyes’ United for £700,000 from Swiss side FC Zurich, and he went onto win the Reserve Player of the Year award in his first season.

Moyes’ departure was bad news for the right-back, with Louis van Gaal electing to sell him to Celtic, where he has had a stop-start spell.
Janko is not in Brendan Rodgers’ first team plans, allowed to sign on loan at Barnsley this season, where he has been restricted to only one start due to injury, returning to action at the weekend.
He is now picking up valuable Championship experience, which he also gained before with a loan spell at Bolton Wanderers, sent out by Moyes’ United.
The full-back’s career has stuttered since joining Celtic, but at 21, the Swiss defender has outstanding potential which Moyes could try to harness.
