Celtic defender Kieran Tierney shares what he noticed about Glasgow Rangers fans

Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers were beaten 4-0 by Celtic at Hampden Park yesterday.

Celtic defender Kieran Tierney has admitted to the Scottish Herald that he did notice just how empty the Glasgow Rangers end at Hampden Park was in the final stages of the Old-Firm derby.

Rangers went 4-0 down against Celtic last weekend, in the early stages of the second half, and many of the Light Blues fans gave up at that point.

There were masses of empty seats in the Rangers end by the closing stages of the contest.

And Tierney admitted that Celtic’s players did spot that Rangers’ fans had left, but he was more focused on the Celtic supporters.

“You noticed it near the end [that all the Rangers fans had left] and obviously 4-0 down is not great for them, but I was looking at Celtic fans more than Rangers ones,” the left-back said.

“I noticed they were happy and singing and that’s good.”

Celtic were never really threatened by Rangers in the contest, as they dominated the derby match.

Tom Rogic opened the scoring for Celtic, before Callum McGregor added a second before half-time.

And things went from bad to worse for Rangers in the second half.

The Ibrox side had Ross McCrorie sent off, and Moussa Dembele and Olivier Ntcham went on to complete the scoring.

Graeme Murty’s side have now failed to win any of the last 10 Old-Firm derbies since Brendan Rodgers took charge.
