The left-back is currently out with ankle ligament damage.

Celtic defender Kieran Tierney has been speaking about his recent injury troubles, and there is no doubt that he is putting a positive spin on the problem.

The teenage full-back has become a vital member of the Celtic team but suffered ankle ligament damage back in October.

He is however remaining positive an, as a boyhood Celtic fan, admits he has enjoyed watching his favourite team win as a mere spectator.

He told the Glasgow Evening Times:

“Is it frustrating having to watch the games? No, I am loving it.

“Celtic are winning so as long as that keeps happening I’m fine. I don’t think I have missed a game since I have been injured. It’s just enjoyable, going and watching Celtic as a fan again with my friends and my cousins.”

He went on to discuss his dreams coming true at Celtic. The defender has been linked with several teams in the past, but he insists he has no plans to leave Celtic any time soon – as for him, playing for the Hoops is a dream come true:

“Obviously when you’re younger some people dream about playing in the Premier League. But I dreamed about playing for Celtic. It was always a Celtic strip I wore.”

Tierney has a task on his hands getting back into the first-team ahead of Emilio Izaguirre when fully fit.

However, Brendan Rodgers is a massive fan of the talented young Scotsman and there is no doubt that he is likely to be back in first-team action in the very near future.

Celtic fans will hope it is for a long time coming.
